England vs India 1st Test Preview: The wait is over for classic England vs India test series as the two cricket giants are getting geared up to lock horns on August 4 for the opening test match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. The two teams will also begin the second cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.

A total of 60 points will be on cards as the number two ranked ICC test team, India, takes on the fourth-ranked ICC test team, England. Each test of the five-match test series will vie for 12 points. The points will be added to the scorecards of the teams in the WTC points table, which will further decide the two finalists in 2023.

India has sustained an early storm as a few key players have been ruled out due to injury concerns. Yesterday, opener Mayank Agarwal was ruled out for the first test after getting hit on the head by a fierce bouncer from Mohammad Siraj in the nets. Earlier, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar were ruled out for the entire tour due to their respective injuries.

England looks good as of now although they will be short of the services of all-rounder Ben Stokes who announced an immediate break from international cricket to take care of his mental wellbeing.

England vs India 1st Test Pitch Report and Weather:

The surface in England is usually a green top which aids the swing bowlers all throughout the game. The pitch gets better to bat on once the sun appears out while it becomes a nightmare for the batters in overcast conditions.
