The seasoned captain MS Dhoni decided to let go of his captaincy hat and handed over the reins to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, whose captaincy stint could only last for eight matches. The hat was eventually again given to MS Dhoni who had led CSK fantastically over the years.
Although the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) couldn’t produce fruitful results for CSK, they can always come up with a much better show in the coming season of the league. CSK’s performance in the IPL 2023 began with their fine show in the IPL 2023 auction which saw them splurge a whopping INR 16.25 Crores on all-rounder Ben Stokes, the highest ever bid made by CSK in history. They also picked up a couple of other all-rounders from the auction table to boost their bench strength.
The Chennai Super Kings squad for IPL 2023 seems to be formidable on paper. The likes of MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Devon Conway, Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar will all go for a big turnaround this season for CSK.

Openers – Ruturaj Gaikwad & Devon Conway
Young Ruturaj Gaikwad and New Zealand batter Devon Conway will perform the opening duties for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2023. Both Gaikwad and Conway have performed clinically in the given chances and form a stable pair to open the innings.
Middle Order – Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ben Stokes & Ravindra Jadeja
The two will be followed by England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who is given a clearance to take up the run-scoring rate. Ali can play aggressive strokes and superimpose on the bowlers to gain momentum.
Ambati Rayudu has been an experienced campaigner on whom CSK has shown faith. And often, Rayudu has performed for the side and will be expected to do the same in the IPL 2023.
All-rounders Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja are no joke to the cricketing world. Everyone knows what they are capable of. Having Ben Stokes in the side will provide stability to CSK’s batting unit. Moreover, he is one of the candidates who will succeed MS Dhoni as the captain of CSK.

The bowling unit will comprise Deepak Chahar, Maheesh Theekshana and Mukesh Chaudhary. While Deepak will have the duty to dispose in the early part of the innings and provide the initial breakthroughs, the other two pacers will look to control the innings in the middle and end phases.
