Big blow to Gujarat Titans, Kane Williamson out of the ground due to injury in the middle of the game. Might be out of the tournament?

In the very first match of the Indian Premier League 2023, the Gujarat Titans team suffered a major setback. While playing in the field, veteran Gujarat Titans opener batsman Kane Williamson suffered a serious injury. He got injured so badly that he had to leave the field at the same moment and was unable to even take the field to bat.

How did Kane Williamson get injured?

Rituraj Gaikwad, a batsman for the Chennai Super Kings, actually made excellent contact with the ball as he hit it. While standing on the boundary, Kane Williamson performed outstanding fielding to prevent the ball from crossing the boundary line. But Kane suffered a severe injury in the process.

Might be out of the tournament?

The extent of Kane Williamson’s injury is not yet known, though. If Kane Williamson suffers a severe injury, it could be a major setback for the Gujarat Titans. How severe Kane Williamson’s injury is, however, won’t be known until the inquiry report is released. Under the new rule, Sai Sudharsan came to bat as a substitute player in place of Kane Williamson.
