Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 Race: What Pakistan, Afghanistan & Bangladesh Need to Qualify
The Asia Cup 2025 is gearing up as teams are clashing to get into the Super 4 round. The Indian National Cricket Team has already occupied their spot in the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup 2025; however, three spots are still left, and teams are competing for it. The group stage matches are about to end, and we are going into the new round of the tournament.
Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and the UAE are the only teams left that are competing for the remaining three spots in the Super 4, whereas other teams like Oman and Hong Kong were not able to make it into the next round. Neither team didn't even won a single match in this tournament so far.
In the group stage so far, Pakistan has had a mixed journey as they managed to win against Oman but lost badly against the Indian Team. Afghanistan also has a similar story, they won against the UAE with a huge margin but lost in a close contest with Bangladesh. On the other hand, Bangladesh won their first game against Hong Kong, then lost against Sri Lanka, and in the end, they defeated Afghanistan.

What does Pakistan need to qualify?
Pakistan is in group A alongwith India, UAE, and Oman. As the Indian Team is already qualified for Super 4 so Pakistan must win their final group stage match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, this is going to be a match-win game for both teams as the winning team will get into the Super 4, either Pakistan or the UAE.
The Chances are very high that Pakistan will beat the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 17, 2025. After winning, Pakistan will have 4 points and they already have a good net run rate so they will definitely reach Super 4.
What does Afghanistan need to qualify?
Afghanistan is a part of Group B along with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong. After losing the game against Bangladesh in a close contest, it all depends on the result of their match against Sri Lanka. Afghanistan has a better net run rate than other teams in their group, so they just need a win to reach the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup 2025.
What does Bangladesh need to qualify?
Bangladesh has already played all their group stage matches, so they have to dependent on others to decide their fate, and now, they have 4 points but with a negative net run rate of -0.270. Bangladesh's fate is in the Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan match. If Sri Lanka wins, they will qualify and if not, they will get eliminated.
What about other teams?
Sri Lanka already have 4 points and a decent net run rate of +1.546 and they have one match left against Afghanistan so either they win or lose, Sri Lanka will reach Super 4. Talking about UAE, they have to defeat Pakistan to reach Super 4; they don't have to think about net run rate or anything, they only need a win to reach Super 4.
