Asia Cup 2023: Indian players to attend a special camp at NCA to prepare for Asia Cup

In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that Indian Cricket Team will be attending a special camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to prepare themselves for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

The camp will be held from 24th August to 29th August and following that Indian team will be travelling to Sri Lanka to play the tournament. The main core will not be part of the three-match Ireland series, slated to take place from 18th August, as they will be at NCA to prepare and plan the strategies for the Asia Cup 2023.

This will be for the first time in a while when the Indian team will be having a camp ahead of any tournament. This basically can be because to get used to the ODI format as since the last two years they haven?t played this format much. They have played a few games but haven?t been able to score big and were getting out even under 200.

Also with conditions hot and humid in Sri Lanka, the camp at NCA will be of great use for the team. Jasprit Bumrah, who will be making his comeback after a prolonged injury, is expected to join the club a little late because he will be leading the Indian team in Ireland. Whereas the rest of the players will be there in time.

The tournament will be played from 30th August to 17th September.  Out of 13 games, 4 games will take place in Pakistan whereas 9 games will be played in Sri Lanka.  Coming to the Indian team they will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 2nd September. It will be an ideal preparation for the India team for the World Cup as well.
