Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan was at his best in his side’s game against Rajasthan Royals. The Southpaw played one of the finest innings in this tournament so far and helped his side mark their second consecutive win of the season. Notably, PBKS thumped RR by 5 runs.
Opening the batting, Dhawan first provided great support to young Prabhsimran Singh, who scored 60 runs. But once his opening partner was back in the hut, he took the onus to himself and took the bowlers to the cleaners.
The batter unleashed himself and smashed RR bowlers all over the park. Dhawan was also at his innovative best as he played a few unorthodox shots as well and upped the scoring rate for his side. His superlative effort helped his side post a total of 197 runs on the board and eventually win the match.

With his unbeaten 86-run knock in the game against Rajasthan Royals, Shikhar Dhawan achieved an all-time feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He became the first opener in the history of the league to hit 800 boundaries. The Southpaw entered his name in the record books after he hit 9 fours in his innings.
Not only this, but Dhawan’s unbeaten 86-run knock also became the third batter to score fifty 50+ scores in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The southpaw joined the elite list along with David Warner and Virat Kohli, who has 60 and 50 fifty-plus scores respectively in the league.
