Afghanistan’s qualification is now simple yet tricky:

• Win against Sri Lanka: All three teams – Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan – will end up with 4 points. The two teams with the best Net Run Rate (NRR) will progress to the Super Four.

• Lose against Sri Lanka: Afghanistan will finish with just 2 points and crash out of the tournament.

The Role of Net Run Rate in Super-4 Qualification

If Afghanistan defeats Sri Lanka, NRR will be the deciding factor.  Given that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh already have strong positions, Afghanistan may require a large margin victory to significantly improve their NRR.  This entails winning by 60-70 runs if batting first, or chasing down a target quickly if batting second.
