Afghanistan Eliminated! Check the Updated Points Table of T20WC-2026 after Afghanistan vs South Africa Thrilling Encounter

Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium today witnessed the most exciting match of the T20I World Cup 2026, or there would be no doubt if it is said that it was one of the most thrilling encounters in T20 cricket. In the 13th match of the T20 World Cup 2026, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan won the toss and invited South Africa to bat first. In response, Aiden Markram and company scored 187 runs in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Afghanistan were all out for 187 in 19.4 overs.

Before the super over, Afghanistan needed 13 runs in the last over, whereas Africa could have won the match by taking just one wicket. The responsibility of the last over was in the hands of Kagiso Rabada, where he took a wicket on the first ball itself but it was a no-ball, then again the first ball was a wide, again for the third time the first ball was a dot ball, Noor Ahmad hit a six on the second ball, the third ball was again a dot, the fourth ball was again a no-ball on which Noor Ahmad took two runs, two runs were needed to win on the fifth ball, on which after completing one run, while taking the second run, non-striker Fazalhaq Farooqi got run out, as a result the match was drawn.

Because it was a do-or-die match for Afghanistan, despite a good performance, they had to face defeat from South Africa after which their World Cup 2026 campaign ended, now Afghanistan will not be able to progress further in the tournament, whereas South Africa and New Zealand have qualified for the Super-8.
