Rajat Patidar: The Indian Premier League is yet to start and many fans have hilariously started to call the league as “Injured Premier League”. This is because plethora of players have suffered injuries ahead of the tournament. There’s an injury scare in almost every team’s camp and their chances have already been dented. While many replacements have been called, some will continue to be with the team. The 16th edition of the league is all set to kick start from 31st March with the final set to take place on 28th May.

Rajat Patidar joins Royal Challengers Bangalore squad ahead of the IPL 2023

In what has been the latest development batter Rajat Patidar has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad ahead of the IPL 2023. The batter reportedly was ruled out of the first half of the tournament due to a heel injury. But in what has been a massive boost for the team, he has joined the squad. The franchise confirmed the development by posting his picture on the social media.

As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, the batter was nursing a heel injury but was advised three weeks rest and was awaiting an MRI scan, which could have to determine his participation in the second half of the competition. 

He was undergoing sessions at the NCA and it is learned that he has been given clearance by them. Although there’s no official confirmation whether he will play the first game or not. But he surely will be there in the RCB camp.

Patidar was the third-highest run-scorer for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last year. He wasn’t picked at last year’s mega auction but came in as a replacement midway through the season. Patidar scored 333 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 152.75.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will open their campaign against Mumbai Indians at Chinnaswamy stadium on 2nd April. The Faf du Plessis-led side is yet to win the IPL and it’ll be another opportunity for them to bag the title. They had a decent auction this time around as roped in some exciting talents in Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma, Michael Bracewell, Will Jacks, Manoj Bhandage, Rajan Kumar, Avinash Singh and Sonu Yadav. RCB qualified for the playoffs last season but was eliminated in Qualifier 2. They would be hoping to go two steps ahead of last year and clinch their maiden title.
