Ace spinner Harbhajan Singh announce retirement from all forms of cricket: Seasoned Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has announced retirement from all forms of cricket. The 41-years old thanked his fans and supporters for the countless joyous moments as he took to social media to inform his well-wishers of his decision.

“All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year-long journey beautiful and memorable,” he tweeted. “My heartfelt thank you. Grateful.”

On the eve of Christmas, Harbhajan Singh bid adieu to the game of cricket after serving it for nearly 25 years. He also shared a link to his youtube video where he reflected upon his journey.

“From the lanes to Jalandhar to becoming the Turbanator of Indian cricket, my 25-year-old journey has been a beautiful one,” he said. “Nothing motivated me more than wearing the India jersey and stepping on to the cricket ground. But there comes a time when you have to take a tough call and move on in life.”

“I announce my retirement from all forms of the game today,” he said.

Singh said that though he was the part of KKR squad as a player in IPL 2021, he made his mind about the decision midway through the league itself.

“I haven’t been playing active cricket for a while now. Because of my commitment with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), I wanted to stay with them during the IPL season. But during the season itself I had made up my mind about retirement.”

He went on to say that he wanted to say goodbye to his cricketing career playing for India, but destiny had something else written on it.

“Like every cricketer, even I wanted to sign off my career by playing for India, but destiny had something else in store,” he said. “I have been 100 percent committed to whichever team I have played for. Be the Indian team, Punjab, Mumbai Indians, CSK or KKR.”

Glorious Moments of Harbhajan Singh:

Harbhajan Singh featured in 236 ODIs, 28 T20Is and 103 Test matches throughout his career spanning 25 years. He has clinched 269 ODI wickets along with 25 T20I and 417 Test wickets.

He is on the list of highest Test wicket-takers for India. He ranks fourth in the list after Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin.

He remained India’s one of the most premier spinners during his time. He used to dismantle the opposition with his spin web and was reckoned as the elite player.
