These two teams have produced many nail-biting battles in the past, and we can expect one in the first game. Below, we will talk about three player battles to watch out for in the first IND vs ENG T20I.
Three Player Battles to watch out for in the first IND vs ENG T20Is.
1. Jos Buttler vs Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami will be back in action after missing out on more than 16 months due to injury. But he is back and will be bowling the new ball. He will be up against Jos Buttler.
Both are very important for their teams and have been up against each other many times in the past. Shami has dismissed Buttler nine times in international cricket. In T20Is, Shami has dismissed Buttler once in 11 balls and given away 23 runs.
2. Suryakumar Yadav vs Adil Rashid
Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the home team and is coming into this clash with form under his belt. He is India's best batter and the highest-ranked T20I batter in the world. India will want him to score runs here and lead the team to win.
He is good against spin, but Adil Rashid knows how to outfox good batters. Rashid is the no. 1 ranked T20I bowler. Rashid has dismissed Suryakumar once in four balls in T20I, and it will be a great battle to watch out for.
3. Phil Salt vs Arshdeep Singh
Phil Salt is the no. 2 ranked T20I batter and is very dangerous when he gets going. He is very dangerous and can win the game single-handedly. He was unstoppable for KKR and will be playing at the same venue, Eden Gardens, and will be hoping to fire once again.
Arshdeep Singh is India's premier bowler in this format, and his record against right-hander is great. This will be a crucial battle for the game. Because whoever wins it will give their team a big advantage.
