"Cannot allow MI to reach final" - Ravichandran Ashwin explains how RCB can win IPL 2025

Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin opened up about Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final. He said that if the franchise has to win the trophy, then the Mumbai Indians shouldn't reach the finals.

The IPL 2025 is about to reach its conclusion. The first two games of the playoffs are done as well, and just two more games are scheduled to take place. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have reached the final, while their opponents will be decided on 1st June.

Mumbai Indians (MI), who beat Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator, will be taking on Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2025. The game will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, and the winner will take on RCB in the summit clash on 3rd June.

RCB displayed a dominating performance in Qualifier 1 as they thrashed PBKS by 8 wickets to advance into the final. With their win, many have now predicted them to win the title, but it won't be an easy task for them, as PBKS and MI are in good touch too.

MI are one team that you cannot allow to enter the final - Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin, who played for Chennai Super Kings, shared his take on the IPL 2025 final. He feels that if RCB have to win the title, then Mumbai Indians shouldn't be allowed to reach the final. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said:

“If RCB has to win the IPL, then Gujarat Titans should win against Mumbai Indians. MI are one team that you cannot allow to enter the final, you have to stop them at any cost.”

Notably, Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Gujarat Titans by 20 runs in the Eliminator of the IPL 2025. The franchise piled up a massive total of 228 runs on the board and then came up with a decent bowling effort to advance to Qualifier 2 of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians are the joint-most successful team in the IPL. They are rated as the monsters in the league as they have won five titles. The Hardik Pandya-led side would be eying their sixth title and become the most successful team in the tournament.
