World Cup Qualifier 2023: After 12 years, the World Cup hosting opportunity returns to India, as does the hope of every Indian. In the ODI World Cup 2023, 12 countries will compete, and 8 teams have already qualified. Ten countries will compete in Zimbabwe for the final two spots in the World Cup later this year in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 qualifying tournament. 34 ODI matches will be played amongst the 10 nations, which include the host Zimbabwe, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, UAE, and USA. The top two teams will be called to the prestigious competition in India in October or November.

World Cup Qualifier 2023 Format

The ten teams will be split into two groups of five, and they’ll face off against each other in a round-robin structure. The top three teams from each group will then go to the super six round, where they will compete against teams from the other half.

The top two teams from the super six round will head to the finals. The top teams will qualify for the World Cup in India. The result of the qualifiers will not affect the team’s qualification, but the victor’s confidence will definitely rise.

  • A playoff series will be contested from June 30 to July 6 to decide the rankings from seventh to tenth place in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
  • The final of the CWC qualifiers will be played on 9 July.
