Woodlands Hospital gave an update on Sourav Ganguly’s health, issues official statement.

Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital on Tuesday gave an official statement on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Sourav Ganguly’s health. The hospital released a statement that said that the former cricketer is fine and has no other complications.

Sourav Ganguly was admitted to the aforementioned hospital after testing covid positive on Monday night. He was isolated immediately and was in a stable state.

The hospital report said that the BCCI chief received a Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy on the same night after he was admitted. 

“Mr. Sourav Ganguly, BCCI President, and former Indian Cricket captain got admitted at Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital on December 27, 2021, late evening with Covid positive status. He received Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy on the same night and is currently haemodynamically stable,” read the statement of the Woodlands Hospital.

The report further named the doctors who are attending the former cricket.

“A medical board comprising Dr. Saroj Mondal, Dr. Saptarshi Basu, and Dr. Soutik Panda in consultation with Dr. Devi Shetty and Dr. Aftab Khan is keeping a close watch on his health status,” added the statement.

Sourav Ganguly’s wife also provided an update on Dada’s health. She said that Sourav was having mild fever and sore throat since Sunday and was immediately isolated from the rest of the family. His tests were done right after and asserted that he is keeping well.

“He is fine and all his health parameters are fine right now. He has no other complications. Sourav had a mild fever and sore throat from Sunday. He was immediately isolated and the test was done,” she said.

It is noteworthy that earlier this year, twice, Sourav Ganguly was admitted to the same hospital. Ganguly suffered a heart attack while exercising and had to undergo right coronary angioplasty.

20 days after his discharge following the right coronary angioplasty, Ganguly was hospitalised for the second time and underwent a second round of angioplasty. During the process, it was said that two stents were placed in two arteries.
