Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s comeback in the domestics with a 5 wicket haul has tempted Indian cricket fans to see him back in action in international cricket. The veteran pacer, who has faced an oust from the senior men’s side, has returned for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy game after a long haul of 8 years.

The fast bowler became an instant hit in his comeback game against Bengal in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. With five wickets on the first day of the play, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s name started doing rounds all across the social media platforms.

It’s safe to say that Bhuvneshwar Kumar had all the weapons to succeed in the whites for India, however, unfortunately, untimely injuries have cut short his red-ball career. Often battling with injuries Kumar would find himself as the guy who could have done so much better for Team India had he been fit more often than not.

Despite being such a big name, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has only managed to play 21 test matches after making his debut in 2013. He was a part of India’s famous test victory in Lord’s where he scalped six wickets.

Talking about his recent accolade, Bhuvneshwar Kumar went on a wicket-taking spree against Bengal in the Ranji Trophy match. After getting bundled out for a meagre 60 runs, Uttar Pradesh needed some lion-hearted effort from their bowlers, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar was up for a magical spell.

The speedster first removed Sourav Paul and Sudip Kumar Gharami with the new ball and then went on to pick the wickets of Anustup Majumdar, captain Manoj Tiwary and Ishan Porel. While the first two wickets came in his first spell, the next three wickets were part of his second spell.

Owing to Bhuvi’s sensational bowling spell, Uttar Pradesh managed to reduce Bengal to a score of 95 runs in the loss of 5 wickets at the end of day 1. With just 35 runs lead, Bengal have found themselves in a spot of bother.

Below are some of the fan’s reactions after Bhuvneshwar Kumar scalped a five-wicket haul against Bengal:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar in India’s squad for England Tests?

The 33-year-old pacer has still got plenty of mettle in him and if he continues to shine in the domestics, the selectors could ask him to join the senior men’s squad for the test series against England.

Moreover, with doubts prevailing over Mohammad Shami’s fitness and availability for the India vs England Test series, the pacer could have a long shot to make a comeback.

However, with the presence of backup pacers Mukesh Kumar and Prasidh Krishna, it would be quite difficult for him to please the selectors.
