The Ashes 2021-22: The marquee event in the history of England and Australia?s test cricket is all set to face a severe setback as the English players are contemplating pulling out of the upcoming season of ?The Ashes? due to the issue of family amid the ongoing pandemic.



The tournament is still five months away but has already started raising eyebrows of the fans and supporters. The stringent border restrictions of the Australian government has initiated a rift among the English players as none of them wants to be away from their families for a long tour.



Not long ago Australia once again saw a surge in the covid positive cases after a couple of major cities failed in successfully administering the vaccination drive.



For almost two years now, the sport of cricket is being played in a controlled environment. The mentally taxing bio-bubbles are now a regular process for all players and teams.



The reports from a prominent news outlet BBC suggest that a few English players are contemplating withdrawing from the all-important Ashes 2021-22 series if the families are not allowed to travel with them.



Australia vs England five matches Ashes series will begin on 8th December in Brisbane. Moreover, players of both the teams will be in UAE and Oman during October-November for the T20 World Cup 2021.&nbsp;

It is expected that both the cricket boards, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) along with Cricket Australia (CA), will come to a simplified solution considering the time they have to organise the series.



If the reports are to be believed, CA is working closely with the Australian government to ease up the restrictions of the cricketers and their families for the all-important high-octane Ashes series 2021-22.

The Ashes 2021-22: The England Cricket Board (ECB) has called on its meetings to discuss the fate of the upcoming mega event in the history of England and Australia cricket. The final take on the Ashes, a test series held between England and Australia, whether the tournament will go as per the plans or not will be taken by this week by the England Cricket.



The tour is under the clouds of danger due to multiple covid restrictions imposed by the Australian government on the players, which are apparently not liked by the Englishmen.&nbsp;



As per the norms put in place by the Aussie government, the English players are uncertain about their families. The multi-format players, who are taking part in the IPL, T20 World Cup are already away from their families for close to four months and the Ashes will push them to remain away for two more months.



Moreover, the travel restrictions and hard quarantine issues are also not favourable for the Englishmen and to which the players have shown their resentment.?



A few England players have already stated that they may not travel to Australia for the Ashes if their families are not allowed and the restrictions are not eased.

The cricket board further stated that all the terms and conditions for the tour will be taken into account but the health and wellbeing of the players and support staff will be paramount.&nbsp;



?With health and wellbeing at the forefront, our focus is to ensure the tour can go ahead with conditions for players and management to perform at their best. We will continue talking to our players this week to share the latest information and seek feedback.?



?Later this week the ECB Board will meet to decide whether the conditions in place are sufficient for the Tour to go ahead and enable the selection of a squad befitting a series of this significance.?



The biggest question lies whether the Australian PM Scott Morrison will ease the restrictions for the cricketers or not. When asked earlier, the same question, Morrison replied, ?no special deals? which made the decisions tricky for the ECB and Cricket Australia.

English all-rounder Ben Stokes has now confirmed to make his comeback in cricket after a long four and a half months of rest and rehabilitation. The all-rounder is pumped-up to join the English squad for the Ashes 2021-22 in Australia.



Stokes, 30-years old, hasn?t played any competitive cricket since July 26 as he went on for an indefinite break to support his mental wellbeing. He represented Northern Superchargers in The Hundred with an injured finger before announcing an indefinite break from all sorts of cricket.



England?s mainstay was not included in the India tour of England for five test matches and is also not named in England?s T20 World Cup 2021 squad.



During his break, Stokes underwent a successful surgery to treat his finger injury, which he sustained during the Vivo IPL 2021 phase one in April. The all-rounder has begun his moderate training and will ramp up the process in the coming weeks before joining the English test squad for Ashes.



"I had a break to prioritise my mental wellbeing and I got my finger sorted," Stokes said. "I am looking forward to seeing my mates and being on the field with them. I'm ready for Australia."

The Ashes 2021-22: England has dealt a major blow ahead of the start of Men?s Ashes 2021-22 as paceman James Anderson is all set to miss the opening Ashes 2021-22 test match at Brisbane?s Gaba due to a minor calf problem.



The development has dented England?s chances of winning the Ashes as they are already short of another sensational paceman Jofra Archer, who is not available for the test series due to his recurring elbow injury.



Anderson is apparently the world?s best test speedster with a massive 632 scalps under his belt. His absence would be a concern for the visitors as The Ashes 2021-22 kickstarts on Wednesday, 8th December in Brisbane?s Gaba.

The Ashes 2021-22: Australia led by new leader Pat Cummins thrashed England in the first Brisbane?s Gaba test match of the Ashes 2021-22 by a huge nine wickets. The hosts comprehensively overwhelmed the visitors to go up in the five matches series by 1-0.



Joe Root and Dawid Malan offered a good fightback in response to Aussie?s sensational bowling display, but the two could not do much as they both fell short of their well structured centuries on day four. Root scored 89 while Malan fell on 82 in the second innings of England.



Australian spinner Nathan Lyon picked four wickets while Pat Cummins and Cameron Green got two. Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc fetched one apiece to end English innings at the Gaba.

To take the Aussie lead further ahead, middle-order batsman Travis Head smacked a blistering century on day three. He plundered a massive 152 runs in 148 deliveries to take Australia to 425 runs in the loss of 10 wickets.



England's Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson picked three wickets each while Chris Woakes scalped two. Spinner Jack Leach and Joe Root got one apiece in their bag.



The visitors in their second innings couldn't do better work. The only hope was Joe Root and Dawid Malan who garnered over 190 runs on day three.?

?He is not an inspirational captain and this is indicated by the number of times his team work their way into a decent position but can't finish the job. Things looked pretty good for the tourists before they came to bat in the second innings and see their humiliating collapse. The opening crisis for them continued with Zak Crawley getting back to the dressing room early.



The Australians picked up early four wickets in the final hour of day two to push England on the backfoot. The English top was already back to the pavilion by the end of the day along with a night watchman who could only do is to leave the ball and get bowled.
