Smith stated he loved captaining in Indore while emphasizing that he still did not want the permanent position. He was astute in his field selections and his deployment of the team's three spinners.



Smith told reporters after the nine-wicket win, "My time is done. It's Pat's team now. I've obviously been able to stand in this week, obviously in tough circumstances with Patty going home. Our thoughts are still with him back home."



"But India is a part of the world I love captaining. it's probably my favorite place in the world to captain. Every ball is an event and therefore can dictate what happens after, which is something that I really love and you've got to be ahead of the game."



"So I thought I did it well this week and it was good fun," he added.

On Thursday, December 19, a female journalist from Australia's renowned news agency Channel 7 panned the camera at Virat's family and captured the video. The Boxing Day test is always a showcase of any test series that is being played between December and January. It is referred to as a test match that starts after Christmas (December 25).
