Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: Senior cricketer Deepak Hooda has been suspended by the Baroda Cricket Association for the indiscipline and disrespect of the game. Earlier, the player breached the bio-secure bubble of BCA and pulled out of the domestic tournament.

Hooda stormed out of the team’s biosecure bubble after the cricketer indulges into the verbal spat with the skipper of Baroda, Krunal Pandya. The senior player complaint of misbehaviour form Krunal’s side.

“Deepak Hooda has been suspended after he walked out of the team’s bubble with informing the officials. He will be suspended for this season as he disrespects BCA and the game of cricket,” BCA secretary Ajit Lele told PTI on Friday.

The decision was taken in the presence of the senior members of the panel in the Apex Council Meeting of BCA held on Thursday evening.

Hooda alleged his skipper Krunal Pandya of misbehaviour and using cuss words in from of his team-mates and other teams who were present in Reliance Stadium Vadodra for the match practice. He also alleged Pandya of not allowing him to do practice even though he took permission from the coach and management.

I am demoralized and depressed: Deepak Hooda

The cricketer wrote an email to the BCA, for his skipper’s misbehaviour and bullying approach.

He wrote, “At this moment, I am demoralized, depressed and under pressure.”

Deepak Hooda was recently named as the deputy of Krunal Pandya in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. He broke out of the team without informing the higher authorities. 

“As from last some days, my team captain Mr Krunal Pandya is using abusing language to me in front of my teammates and also other state teams who have come for participation at Reliance Stadium Vadodara.”
