SAvsIND 1st ODI Dream11: After the conclusion of the test series for ages, South Africa and India are scheduled to lock horns in a three-match ODI series. The recently concluded Test series brought up a sensational display of grit, emotions, determinations and the abilities of the cricketers.
India convincingly thrashed the hosts in the opening test, however, after that, India seemed to be in immense pressure while South Africa rose up and gave a befitting reply for their opening loss. The Proteas clinched the test series by 2-1, giving away a tough night for the Indians as the series was considered as India’s best chance to rewrite the history pages by defying the odds and beating South Africa in their own backyard in the traditional format series for the first time.
The first ODI match is slated to be played in Boland Park on 19th January. KL Rahul will be captaining India, in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, while Jasprit Bumrah will assume the vice-captaincy role.
Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see Virat Kohli’s approach to the game as he is no longer the skipper of any Indian side now. He was sacked from the ODI captaincy while he himself opted to step down from the T20I and test captaincy.
After South Africa’s series-clinching win in the test series, they will be charged up to give a few more sleepless nights to the Indians. The Temba Bavuma led side would be eager to take on the Indians and kickstart the ODI series with a win.
The same goes for the visitors. KL Rahul led India would have to collect themselves despite the massive loss of the test series.
