SA vs IND 3rd Test: After weeks of highs and lows, India and South Africa have reached Newlands Cape Town for the third, decider test match of the series. The three matches test series is currently levelled at 1-1 following the host’s brilliant showdown in Johannesburg to topple India from the healthy charge.
The Indian captain, Virat Kohli, missed the second test match due to an unfortunate back spasm, but he looked good to go in the nets ahead of the final decider. King Kohli was definitely missed in the second test, which India lost by seven wickets.
With the series at stake, both teams will give their all to win the test match. India has looked in complete control and are favourites to win the test match and etch their name in history books as it will be India’s first-ever test series win on South African soil. On the other side, South Africa will look to maintain their dominance against India once again.
Despite the loss of Quinton de Kock’s services, SA played nicely to defeat India in the second test. A similar kind of effort would be required, perhaps, more intensified and gritty. The same goes for India.
India is likely to be without Mohammad Siraj’s services as the pacer pulled his hamstring during the second match. The visitors will be hoping to make the South Africa tour memorable this time with their lion-hearted efforts to stamp their authority.

Newlands, Cape Town offers a balanced surface for both teams to play cricket. Neither belter for the pacers, nor a complete paradise for the batters. That said, the spinners aren’t likely to get special treatment here in Cape Town. A good carry and bounce will be seen in the initial phase, it will become batsman-friendly as the ball gets older. However, timely doses of surprises will be on offer from the surface.
The best thing about the test match is it offers good sunshine for the game to progress. The forecast is good.
