India captain Rohit Sharma is on the verge a achieving a massive record for the team in the history of International cricket. The opening batter is just 490 runs away from completing the 19000 runs for the team in all three formats of the game combined.

If Rohit Sharma achieves the feat he will become only the fourth Indian to achieve the feat. He will join the likes of Sachin Tendulkar (34357), Virat Kohli (26733) and Rahul Dravid (24064). Overall he will become the 14th player in history to achieve the milestone.

Rohit Sharma currently has 18810 runs to his name from 469 matches to his so far. He has an average of over 43 in international cricket and also has slammed 46 centuries and 100 half-centuries in his career so far. The batter has been the backbone for the Indian cricket team for the last one decade.

Rohit Sharma will be a great opportunity to achieve the milestone of 19000 runs in international cricket in the ongoing IND vs ENG series. He is captaining the team in the ongoing series but hasn’t been able to make a mark with the bat in the first two games.

However, he will be having three more games to set the stage on fire. With India having an inexperienced batting line, the Indian captain would be hoping to take responsibility and cash on the opportunities with bat in the last three games of the series.

If he plays to his potential in the last three games then he no doubt can achieve 490 runs in the last three games. The batter would be hoping to lead from the front and take his team to glory. The series between teams is levelled at 1-1. The third match of the series will be on 15th February in Rajkot.
