The is always a hot topic of discussion amongst experts, analysts and fans from all across the world. The tournament featuring teams in the shortest of the game has always been great to watch for each one of us for sure.

Over the years T20I matches have provided the fans with several unimaginable moments on the field. Top-level teams have delivered wonderful performances at crucial moments and changed the entire complexion of the game in a matter of a few overs, or even a few balls.

The batting department of the teams has often come to the rescue and helped the side conquer the opposition with some fantastic big hits. Hence it's the batters of a team which the management relies upon to win then a match from tough situations.

It's due to this reason that every team that is to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup would like to strengthen its batting department to the fullest so as to get the upper hand in the majority of the games. It's time for us to have look at the top three batsmen who might be the highest run scorers in this T20 World Cup 2022.

3.

Rohit Sharma

At no.3 in the list is 's skipper Rohit Sharma. The man who's been newly appointed the skipper of the Indian team in all three formats will also be a key factor in India's batting lineup in the upcoming T20 World Cup. The right-hander has scored 290 runs in 13 T20I innings so far this year. He has batted with a fine strike rate of 140.

The fact that he has more often provided India with quick-fire starts in most of the matches will be a great relief to the rest of his teammates and the management in particular. The Hitman will surely be looking to continue with such good performances in the event as big as the T20 World Cup as well.

2. Nicholas Pooran

Skipper finds a second place in this list. Nicholas Pooran has been one of the most consistent run scorers for his side in the recent past and has proved to be the backbone of the West Indian batting lineup.

The left-hander has always managed to counter the opposition bowlers and stabilise the innings with wonderful shots under tough circumstances. Pooran has 553 runs in 17 T20I innings for West Indies so far in 2022 with a good strike rate of 135.7.

The fact that he's smashed 5 half centuries, the most by any player in T20Is this year so far speaks loads of the fine current form he is in. He definitely will be a massively important player for West Indies and stands a chance to be the highest run scorer in T20 World Cup later this year.

1.

T20 World Cup 2021: Shoaib Akhtar slams ICC for not picking Babar Azam as Man of the tournament
Babar Azam

The top position in this list belongs to 's skipper Babar Azam. Babar has been one of the most impressive and dominant batsmen in the world in recent times across all formats. However, it's mostly in the white ball cricket where he has had a more significant role to play for his side.

The 28-year-old has scored a fantastic half-century in the only T20I match that he's played so far this year against . However, the proof of his being in great touch in T20Is was clear with his performances in 2021, when he scored over 550 runs in 23 T20I innings.

Babar will surely be looking to continue his great form with the bat in the upcoming major ICC tournament, the T20 world cup too. No doubt he will be the player to watch out for in the tournament this year and might be the top run-getter for sure.
