PAK vs ENG 3rd T20I: 2 Changes Pakistan might make

  • Usman Khan in place of Saim Ayub

Saim Ayub hasn’t performed well with the bat lately as an opener and the team management had taken a bold decision of accommodating Saim as an opener in the playing 11 by making Babar bat at number three. Barring the New Zealand series, Ayub failed to impress with the bat in the Ireland series and against England in the second T20i as well as he gave away his wicket cheaply on more than one occasion.

With the 2024 T20 World Cup set to begin from 1st June, the Pakistani management would like to try out Usman Khan at the top of the order alongside Mohammad Rizwan in the fourth t20 and if it works out then it will be a win – win situation for both Pakistan and Usman Khan.

  • Abrar Ahmed in Place of Shadab Khan

Shadab Khan is not having a good time with the bowl as in the second T20i of the series against England, the 25 year old gave away 55 runs without picking up a single wicket and these figures were also his worst T20 international figures with the ball. Even in the first t20 against Ireland, his figures read 0-54 which is not something that’s expected from an experienced spinner like him.

Abrar Ahmed is a bowler who is similar to Shadab Khan as he’s a leggie as well and he is regarded as a mystery spinner as well. His presence in the playing 11 will definitely help the Babar Azam led team out as the English players haven’t batted against Abrar in the past. If Abrar performs well in seam friendly conditions of England against England, then he will definitely seal his spot in Pakistan’s 2024 T20 World Cup playing 11.
