Vivo IPL 2021: MS Dhoni returns with a Duck against Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals.

Vivo IPL 2021: The much-awaited moment for the fans of MS Dhoni did not last in excess of five minutes as the skipper returned to the dugout on nought against Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals in Mumbai. Skipper Dhoni recorded a second-ball duck to Avesh Khan in the 16th over of the first innings.

Despite training his sweat out in the nets weeks prior to the IPL 2021, Dhoni once again disappointed his fans who awaited a big show tonight. It was his fourth duck in the elite T20 competition since its inception. He came to bat after the wicket of southpaw Suresh Raina who made a remarkable comeback to IPL after over 600 days.

Raina scored good 54 runs before getting run out after a bit of confusion between him and Ravindra Jadeja. He smacked four towering sixes and three boundaries to reach his half-century in the first game of Chennai Super Kings against Delhi Capitals.

CSK didn’t have a good start as both the opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis were dismissed cheaply under 10 runs. However, all-rounder Moeen Ali and Raina controlled the innings and brought Chennai back to the track in no time.

To finish the thing well for CSK in 20 overs, Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja smacked the Delhi bowlers all over the park. Curran scored 15 balls 34 and Jadeja amassed 26 of 17 balls to put up 188 runs total in the loss of seven wickets.
