Title-winning former captain of Gujarat Titans Hardik Pandya was surprisingly traded to Mumbai Indians just a few days before the Auction. It was big news and a surprise for Mumbai Indians fans but a banger was yet to be announced by the franchise, which they announced soon that Hardik Pandya is the new captain of Mumbai Indians replacing Rohit Sharma. This news just broke down the internet and there were a lot of reactions from the fans.

The trade-in of Hardik Pandya has added another strong pillar in the MI middle order. They had secured their core while releasing a few players and also had a good day at the Auction where they got quality bowlers like Gerald Coetzee and Madushanka and experienced allrounder Mohammad Nabi.

Strengths of the Mumbai Indians

The primary strength of the Mumbai Indians is their strong Indian batting lineup. They've got three of the top Indian batters. Surya, Ishan, and Rohit! They traded in Hardik Pandya and he was appointed as the new captain. In addition, they have a strong set of young players including Tilak Varma.

While there aren't many well-known international hitters, there are plenty of intriguing ones. Players who can win games in a few overs include Tim David, Romario Shepherd, and Dewald Brevis.

Weakness of the MI

The Mumbai Indians still don't have a reliable spinner, which is something they lacked the previous year. They have a blossoming Kumar Kartikeya and a waning Piyush Chawla. Even though they acquired Muhammad Nabi and Shreyas Gopal through the auction, the team still lacks an effective spinner. Does Piyush Chawla still have what it takes?
