IPL 2023: Ranking All Team’s Captains

In the IPL thus far, the cricketer from Delhi has captained 11 games. He has only four victories under his belt, and he was demoted while he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad. At a strike rate of 126 in 205 innings, he has 6243 runs scored. It would therefore be interesting to see how he performs, serving as skipper of PBKS this season IPL 2023.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape recently won the first SA20 under Aiden Markram’s leadership. The South African batting all-rounder showed tremendous leadership by taking charge. In the home league, he has excelled. He played 18 innings in total throughout the IPL, scoring 527 runs at an average of almost 40 and a strike rate of 134.

Shreyas Iyer was the Delhi Capitals’ skipper until he was injured and replaced by Pant. At the IPL 2022 auction, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought the elegant batter, who was then given the team’s leadership position, and hope he will continue to lead the side in IPL 2023. He has 2776 runs in 101 innings pitched at an average of 31 and a strike rate of 125.

  • 7- Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royal)

Sanju Samson has a victory percentage of less than 40%, although he displayed outstanding bowler management skills in the IPL 2022. However, he was able to give up a few strong performances despite the lack of consistency in the bowling department by making smart bowling adjustments. With an average of almost 30 and a strike rate of 135 in 264 innings, he has scored 3526 runs.

As Virat Kohli resigned, Faf du Plessis took over as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the IPL 2022 season. RCB made the playoffs for the third consecutive season, but once again fell short of winning the championship. Du Plessis’ batting performance was inconsistent on a personal level. He nevertheless achieved remarkable results, scoring 468 runs in 16 games at a strike rate of 127.52. Du Plessis will be eager to lead RCB to a title victory this year in IPL 2023.

  • 5- Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans)

Many people in IPL 2022 were impressed by Hardik Pandya’s composure and preference for simplicity. Also, it earned the franchise a trophy. The all-rounder stepped up, taking eight wickets with his medium pace while hitting 487 runs in 15 matches last year. At an average of 30 runs per inning yet a healthy strike rate of around 150, he has amassed 1963 runs in 100 innings.

In the IPL 2023, Warner will captain Delhi in absence of Rishabh Pant. He is ranked No. 4 because of his successful track record as a captain. DC will be hoping that Warner would use his experience serving as captain of SRH to assist the team win a trophy. In 163 innings, he has amassed 5881 runs, a stellar average of 42, and a strikeout rate of above 150.

Nonetheless, CSK is the second-most prosperous IPL franchise, having won the trophy four times, the most recent being in 2021. As a batter, MS Dhoni has contributed significantly to the team’s success. He has averaged about 40 runs per inning while scoring 4978 runs in 206 innings. His 135 strike rate for these runs is remarkable.

IPL
Rohit Sharma

With five IPL championships under his belt, Rohit Sharma has enjoyed the greatest success as a captain. Yet MI had the worst season last year, placing 10th in the points table. Rohit Sharma’s personal statistics as an opener and captain are strong in the meantime. In 222 innings, he has scored 5879 runs, averaging 31 runs.

KL-Rahul

In their inaugural IPL season in 2022, KL Rahul led the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to the playoffs. While Rahul has consistently been a leader in top run-getters in the T20 league, his qualifications as a captain have always been questioned.
