India A's Asia Cup Final Dream Crushed - Bangladesh defeats Jitesh Sharma's team in 1st Semi-Final via Super Over

The India-A Cricket Team, led by Jitesh Sharma, lost versus Bangladesh-A in the 1st semi-final of the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars as the Boys in Blue went down in the super-over and this defeat means they missed out on the opportunity to secure their spot in the final of the competition. Bangladesh-A, captained by Akbar Ali, registered an emotional win at Doha's West End Park Cricket Ground.
The Indian batsmen were dismissed on the first two balls of the Super-Over and the Bangla Tigers easily sealed the win, courtesey of a wide ball by leg spinner Suyash Sharma and this meant that the Akbar Ali-led outfit won the game without scoring a run.
The match went till the super over
Bangladesh, batting first, scored 194 runs. The Bangladeshi batsmen went berserk in the final overs, 50 runs in the last two overs. Meanwhile, the Indian batsmen also managed to match the score of their opponents, putting up a score of 194 on the board, the same as Bangladesh. When the Super Over came, captain Jitesh Sharma was dismissed on the first ball and Ashutosh Sharma on the second ball.
Bangladesh needed just one run to win. Suyash Sharma came on to bowl for India. He bowled a googly on his first attempt, which Yasir Ali hit for a big shot, but Ramandeep Singh caught it on the boundary. The match became exciting once again, but Suyash Sharma bowled a wide on the next ball, adding one run to Bangladesh's score. Bangladesh, in effect, won the Super Over without scoring a run.
Bangladesh-A will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Sri Lanka-A and Pakistan-A tonight in the final to be held on November 23.
Talking about India's innings, they started off brilliantly with the bat. The opening pair of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya put on a 53-run partnership in 3.4 overs. Vaibhav was dismissed for 38 runs off 15 balls. He hit four sixes and two fours in the innings. Naman Dhir, batting at number three, proved to be a disappointment as he managed to score just seven runs. Priyansh scored 44 runs off 23 balls, including three fours and four sixes.
Then Jitesh Sharma and Nehal Wadhera's innings took the match to the Super Over. India needed four runs off the last ball to win, but due to poor fielding by the Bangladeshi players, Indian players Nehal and Harsh Dubey could only score three runs. Even then, India could not have won the match. But Akrab (who is also the captain of Bangladesh) missed the stumps while trying to get the Indian batters out on the final delivery. India took advantage of that opportunity to tie the match by scoring another run. The match went to a super over. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan and Pakistani cricketers in the gallery laughed and laughed at the Bangladeshi cricketers' actions.
