India into the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Final: India advanced to the Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup finals with yet another outright victory. India defeated New Zealand by eight wickets on Friday in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The tournament’s undefeated team, New Zealand, could only muster 107 runs as Shweta Sehrawat led the clean chase.

Parshavi Chopra, a standout leg-spinner for India, took three wickets of Dangerous Isabella Gaze, New Zealand skipper Izzy Sharp, and Emma Irwin to hold New Zealand to a modest total.

Shafali Verma, India’s captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand struggled to form partnerships as India picked off wickets at regular intervals. They lost the first wicket in the second over, two within the powerplay, and three down by the end of the 10th over. Player of the Match, Parshavi Chopra took three major wickets for the Women’s in Blue. India dismissed New Zealand for a meager 107 in 20 overs.

Shweta Sehrawat led India into the finals with a winning four.
