India and West Indies are currently locking horns with each other in the second game of the series at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The game holds great value as it marked the 100th Test between two games. The series stands at 1-0 with visitors in the lead and they would be hoping for a complete whitewash. 

The ongoing game also marks the 500th international game for Indian batter Virat Kohli and he made sure that he celebrates the occasion with another memorable performance. The right-hander, who scored 76 runs in the first game, continued his fine form and played another good innings in the ongoing game. 

Asked to bat first, India had a decent opening partnership as Rohit Sharma (80) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (57) scored 139 runs for the opening partnership. But after that, they lost wickets quickly and were left tottering at 182/4.

It was then that Virat Kohli took the onus to himself and played a magnificent innings. The senior Indian batter crafted his innings staggering well and timed the ball to perfection. He looked watchful at the start but also punished the bad balls, making sure that he keeps the run rate in check. 

Virat Kohli smashed a wonderful half-century and became the first player in the history of the game to score a half-century in the 500th game. At stumps on Day 1, the right-hander was batting at 86 off 161 balls. He looked all set for a ton in the historical game.
