India and West Indies are currently locking horns with each other in the second game of the series at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The game holds great value as it marked the 100th Test between two games. The series stands at 1-0 with visitors in the lead and they would be hoping for a complete whitewash. 

Virat Kohli, who is playing his 500th international game, made sure that he sets the stage on fire. He continued his form from the first game and played a  magnificent innings that saw him bailing India out of trouble.

India was left tottering at 182/4 but after that, Virat Kohli  crafted his innings staggering well and timed the ball to perfection. He looked watchful at the start but also punished the bad balls, making sure that he keeps the run rate in check.

Virat Kohli smashed a wonderful century and became the first player in the history of the game to score a half-century in the 500th game. He looked set for the daddy hundred but unfortunately got run out for 121 runs off 206 balls. He also smashed 11 boundaries in his innings.

After his 121 runs knock, Virat Kohli broke quite a few records as he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar in the most number of centuries after the 500th international match. He also now has an equal number of Test centuries as Sir Don Bradman. They both share 29 tons after 500 games. 

Virat Kohli also now has second joint-most Test centuries against West Indies. He has smashed 12 tons and is behind just Sunil Gavaskar now. Virat Kohli also became the second Indian to score 2000 runs in the history of the World Test Championship
