IND vs WI: India team has been currently enjoying their time off. However, they will be soon seen in action as they are slated to tour West Indies in July and August. They will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. This will be the first time they will be in action after the heartbreaking loss against West Indies in the final of the ICC World Test Championship. India’s tour to West Indies will begin with a Test series first, which will be played from 12th July to 24th July followed by ODIs that are slated to be played from 27th July to August 1st. It’ll allow them to get in the groove for the Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC World Cup 2023, which will be played in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India respectively.
Coming to the playing 11 for the first ODI, it’s a no-brainer that skipper Rohit Sharma will be at the top and will open the innings. Shubman Gill is likely to be his opening partner. The duo has been exceptional at the top and has been providing great starts to the team.
Virat Kohli is likely to retain his place at No.3 but the big question remains who will bat at No.4? With Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul unlikely to be part of the series, it’ll be an opportunity for Sanju Samson to bat in the middle.
Suryakumar Yadav, who bagged three consecutive ducks in the last ODI series India played, is likely to retain his place and play the finisher’s role alongside Indian vice-captain Hardik Pandya. Ravindra Jadeja is expected to be the second all-rounder in the team.

As per the various reports, both Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami are likely to be rested for the tour and therefore Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Avesh Khan are expected to be the pace trio along with Kuldeep Yadav, who will be the lone spinner in the team.
