With five-match T20I series against West Indies one month away way from now, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has picked his young squad for the series. There was no brainer that he picked Hardik Pandya as captain of the team.
The batting department that Harbhajan Singh picked was full of talent as he picked all the youngsters who impressed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The former Indian cricketer picked four openers in Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh were the three middle-order batter picked by Harbhajan Singh in the team whereas Jitesh Sharma was also drafted by him in the team as a keeper. What caught the attention of many he dropped Sanju Samson from the team. The Rajasthan Royals skipper was quite impressive in the IPL.
Skipper Hardik Pandya along with Axar Patel were the two all-rounders picked by Harbhajan Singh in the team. Ravi Bishnoi along with Yuzvendra Chahal were the two leg spinners picked by the former off-spinner whereas Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Akash Madhwal were the three frontline pacers that he opted for in his team.
