IND vs SA: Rohit Sharma on the verge of breaking massive record of MS Dhoni and Virender Sehwag in Tests

Going into the IND vs SA Tests, the spotlight will be on the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. This will be the first time he will be seen in action after the disappointing loss against Australia in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 on 19th November.

Rohit Sharma will be having a great chance to make up for the World Cup final loss. India has never won a Test series in South Africa and it will be a huge opportunity for Rohit to give the nation something to cherish after the heartbreaking World Cup final loss.

Ever since Rohit Sharma started opening in Tests, he has been on a different planet. He has looked settled at the top as he has played some great knocks and has made sure that his team get great starts in both homes as well as overseas conditions.

Rohit Sharma will be crucial for the team in the upcoming two-match IND vs SA Test series. The opening batter for the first time will be opening the innings in South Africa in Tests and it will be a difficult challenge for him. But he has been in staggering form of late and has done well. He would be optimistic about doing well.

Not only as a batter but Rohit Sharma also will have to keep his intensity high as the leader. A lot would be reliant on him as he needs to be on the top of his game both as a batter as well as the leader.

The upcoming IND vs SA series will be a huge opportunity for Rohit Sharma to break the massive record of great MS Dhoni and Virender Sehwag in the Tests. The Indian captain is just 14 sixes away from becoming the leading six-hitter in the longest format for India.

Rohit Sharma currently has 77 sixes and is just two sixes away from surpassing MS Dhoni, who has 78 sixes. If he hits 14 sixes in the series, he can go past Virender Sehwag (90 sixes) to become the leading six-hitter for India.

Most sixes for India in Test cricket:

Virender Sehwag – 90 sixes (178 innings)
MS Dhoni – 78 sixes (144 innings)
Rohit Sharma – 77 sixes (88 innings)

With Rohit Sharma has been batting, it won’t be a surprise if achieves the record in the upcoming IND vs SA game. The batter mostly believes in big hits and we might see him scripting history in the upcoming series.
