IND vs SA is the crucial ODI match for India and as K L Rahul drops as the captain of India it still seems that he has some unique deeds in his performance. In the 3-match ODI series, KL Rahul is leading the Team Blue against South Africa. Rohit Sharma being the successor of Virat Kohli as Captain of India was an opportunity for him to rule out as captain. Unfortunately, due to fitness issues, Rohit’s absence from the SA tour makes a big impact on team India.
In running ODIs KL Rahul stepped out as a captain on Wednesday but he has marked his achievement on the field. This right-hand batsman is playing his 39th ODI and leading the team. It only makes him the 2nd Indian who side captain before the 50th making an appearance in the current format. In a similar case, Mohinder Amarnath, the former Indian batsman in the year 1984 also led his 35th appearance in the Indian team for the side.
It is truly incidental to say that KL Rahul is the captain of the Punjab Kings IPL team for consecutive two seasons. But he never got the opportunity to lead Karnataka in List A match which is even his domestic side. Still, he became the 3rd Indian who got the opportunity to show captaincy in an international match without any experience of a leadership role in domestic List A matches. Virender Sehwag and Syed Kirmani were the other two players who were on the same feat earlier to K L Rahul.
