IND vs IRE: India is all set to travel to Ireland for the three-match T20I series. The first game will be played on the 18th of August followed by the second and third games to be played on the 20th and 23rd August. All three games of the series will be played at The Village, Malahide.

IND vs IRE: India in the T20Is isn’t giving senior players opportunities since the loss in the T20 World Cup 2022. Hardik Pandya has taken over the charge of the side and young players have been getting a  lot of opportunities as BCCI is eyeing to form a core for the next World Cup. 

India will be playing under Hardik Pandya in the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies but after that, there are many speculations about the team for the Ireland series. With Asia Cup and World Cup around the corner, there have been quite a few reports that have suggested that the all-rounder will be rested. 

Hardik Pandya along with Shubman Gill as per the various media reports is likely to be rested for the series as there will be less time to prepare for the Asia Cup 2023. In his absence, a report in Times of India has suggested Suryakumar Yadav is the front runner to captain the team.

Suryakumar Yadav has severed as Hardik Pandya’s deputy in the T20I series after the T20 World Cup 2022. The batter has a bit of captaincy experience as well as he has led the Mumbai team in the domestic circuit and also captained Mumbai Indians for one game in the IPL this year. 

IND vs IRE: VVS Laxman set to be Head coach of Team India in the T20I series against Ireland – Reports

Apart from this, it is learned VVS Laxman will be the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland. Due to the jam-packed schedule coming up, Rahul Dravid along with batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and fielding coach T Dilip will be rested for the Ireland tour. They will take back the onus from the Asia Cup, starting 31st August. 

VVS Laxman will be joined by the coaching staff from NCA. Along with him  Sitanshu Kotak or Hrishikesh Kanitkar (batting) and Troy Cooley or Sairaj Bahutule (bowling) will be there with the team in Ireland. Notably, Laxman has been coaching the team in the absence of Dravid.
