IND vs AUS: The India vs Australia 5-match test series, popularly known as the Border Gavaskar Trophy, has once again hit the limelight after the venues of the test series were confirmed. The series, which is scheduled to be held at the end of the year, is set to kickstart in Perth.

India and Australia will be against each other in the bull ring at the end of the year for another epic Test series. Following India’s defeat in the ICC World Test Championship 2023, the two sides haven’t crossed swords in the red-ball cricket.

Notably, the India vs Australia 5-match series will be the last test series for India in the ongoing cycle of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25. Rohit Sharma-led India will mark an end to their WTC campaign during the Australia tour and only take part in it further if they qualify for the Final.

While the comprehensive tour planner is yet to be officially announced by Cricket Australia (CA), the reports confirm the venues for the high-voltage clash between the two high-profile test sides.

ICC WTC Final Qualification Scenario! Know, how can India qualify for the 2021-23 WTC final.

Team India has managed to pull off something impressive in the last few outings in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. With already four consecutive series wins under their belt, Rohit Sharma and his men will aim for another as they tour Australia later this year in December and early next year.

The last time Australia won the Border Gavaskar Trophy on Indian soil was in 2004-05. Since then it has been a one-sided dominance by the Indians when it comes to their backyard.

While India seemed to have a fruitful outing in the BGT on Indian soil, they used to get hammered when they toured Australia for the same series in rotational order. However, records have been put straight in the last few years by Team India on foreign soil as well.

To prove their mettle outside the subcontinent as well, the Indian side pulled off a miraculous test series win against Australia in 2018/19. The team once again toured Australia in 2020/21 and again it was Team India that topped the charts and emerged triumphant.

Rohit Sharma-led side will now eye the hat-trick of wins against Australia in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Tour (IND vs AUS), later this year. Below are the results of the last five BGTs:

SeasonSeries/TournamentScorelineWinner
2014/15India tour of Australia2-0 (4)Australia
