IND vs AUS: Massive Blow to Australia; Josh Hazlewood Ruled Out of Remainder of BGT 2024-25

The ongoing third test between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane has come to an interesting end where India are trying hard to survive while Australia are hoping to put full control over the visitors. The rain has also played hide and seek, and there have been multiple breaks, which have broken the momentum of both teams.

India had some good contributions from KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, who both struck crucial half-centuries. But for Australia, they were handicapped by injury to the ace pacer Josh Hazlewood. The pacer came into this game after missing out on the second test in Adelaide.

But he has once again come under the scanner after suffering a calf injury sustained during Day 4. He was forced to leave the field due to injury. The pacer went for scans to understand the severity of the injury, and it has now been confirmed that he won't be taking part in the remainder of the game.

IND vs AUS 3rd Test: Josh Hazlewood ruled out of the remainder of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series

Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out from the ongoing test at the Gabba due to a calf injury. As updated and shared at the official X (formerly Twitter) by 7 Cricket, they have confirmed Hazlewood's injury. The tweet read, "Josh Hazlewood has sustained a right-sided calf strain that will prevent him from playing any further part in the Test match against India in Brisbane."

On the other hand, Cricket Australia confirmed in their official statement, "He is likely to miss the remainder of the Test series. A squad replacement will be made in due course." This comes as a massive blow to the hosts, who had a great chance to win the third test.

But with a bowler short, their bowling attack mainly relies on Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. As per the latest update, India have avoided the follow-on successfully, and they were 252/9 in 74.5 overs when the game was stopped due to bad light. The last-wicket partnership between Jasprit Bumrah (10*) and Akashdeep (27) have added 39 runs off 54 balls and took India past the follow-on.
