ICC T20I Rankings: Since the last two years, T20Is have been the prime format for all teams due to the two T20 World Cups in two years. However, there have been only a few batters who have performed consistently and have taken world cricket by storm in this format. India’s Suryakumar Yadav, Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are the three batters that have been there at the top in T20Is of late and have pipped each other in the rankings as well. They are the main reason behind their team’s success as they have been scoring runs consistently. In the process they have reached various milestones as well and have made themselves a great name.
ICC T20I Rankings: Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan battle for No.1 T20I rankings
International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday (12th April) updated the player’s T20I rankings. Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav, who has been going through a red-hot form in the shortest format of the game, continued leading the charts. He’s the No.1 ranked T20I batter with 906 rating points.
However, there’s a battle going on between the lynchpin of Pakistan’s batting lineup Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. They are just behind Suryakumar Yadav in the rankings and one among them might displace the Indian batter after their series against New Zealand.
While Mohammad Rizwan is the No.2 ranked T20I batter with 811 rating points, Babar Azam on the other hand is placed 3rd with 755 rating points. Pakistan is slated to lock horns with New Zealand in the five-match T20Is series, starting 14th April and the duo will be against each other for the No.1 ranking.
