ICC T20 World Cup 2024: West Indies announce schedule for the white-ball series?against England

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: West Indies cricket team have announced their squad for the white-ball series against England that will take place in the Caribbean in December 2023. The two-time T20 World Cup winners will host the Jos Buttler-led side for three ODIs and five T20Is.?

The series will begin with the three-match ODI series. The first game will be played on 3rd December followed by the second match slated to take place on 6th December. The first two games will be played in Antigua before the focus shift to the 3rd ODI, which will be played in Barbados on 9th December. 

The two teams will then lock horns in the T20I series that will kick start from 14th December in Barbados. The second game of the series is scheduled to take place on 14th December. Whereas the third game will be played on 16th December. These two games will be played in Grenda before the focus shifts to the Final two games that will be played on the 19th and 21st December in Trinidad.?

The five-match T20I series will be an ideal preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played in the Caribbean and USA in June of that year. England are the defending champions whereas West Indies since the last two World Cups have been a disappointment.?

Johnny Grave, Cricket West Indies' Chief Executive said that tour will be a major economic boost for the host countries and the T20I series will be extremely crucial to the preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He explained:?

"We are delighted to be able to confirm the England match schedule and to welcome once again their many travelling fans to the region for a pre-Christmas white-ball tour. This tour will be a major economic boost to the host countries, as well as providing our fans with the chance to see some of their favourite players in action against one of our biggest rivals. The tour will also help with our ongoing venue preparation and event planning for one of the biggest events ever to be staged in the region, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which takes place in June next year."
