Indian Cricket team have dominated International cricket in the past few years and the top rank of India in all three formats is a clear-cut proof of the fact. They have been leading the T20I team's board for quite a long now and this domination in the T20I arena will definitely work as a confidence booster in a T20 World Cup year.
With a rating of 266, India are at the top after playing 71 games in this cycle. Most recently, they played Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series where they won all three matches and whitewashed the visitors. Now, after the domestic circuit(IPL), the team will directly enter the stage of the T20 World Cup.

Following India, England are the second-ranked team in the T20 Rankings. They have played 48 matches and have earned 256 rating points. England played West Indies last in the T20 format where they lost the series but winning two matches out of 5 canceled out their losing rating points and hence they maintained their rating to stay second in the rankings.
Closing chasing them are Australia with just a point behind. The Kangaroos have a 255 rating in 45 matches played. Most recently they defeated New Zealand in a three-match T20I series played in New Zealand by a 0-3 scoreline.

Defeat in that series cost New Zealand to lose the second spot in the ICC T20I Team rankings and slipped to 4th spot with 254 ratings. Pakistan follows them with 249 rating points in 58 matches. They both are scheduled to play a T20I series in Pakistan in the month of April.
