ICC Men’s ODI Ranking Updated Ahead of ICC World Cup 2023 | India on TOP, Leaves behind Pakistan & Australia in Team Ranking

International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday (22nd January) announced the T20I team of the year 2023. The team features four Indians, two from Zimbabwe and one each from the West Indies, Ireland, England, New Zealand and Uganda. 

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named in the ICC T20I team of the year 2023. The batter played with aggressive intent all throughout and ended with 430 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 159. 

Along with him, England’s Phil Salt has been picked as another opener in the team. He was nothing short of exceptional for England at the top of the order in the T20Is. He blasted 394 runs in just eight innings in the year 2023 at an average of  56.28 and striking at 169.09.

At No.3, ICC has picked West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran. The keeper-batter was in the red hot form in the year 2023 in T20Is. The left-hander mustered 334 runs in 13 innings at a sensational strike rate of around 163.

Suryakumar Yadav was a class apart in the T20Is in 2023. He has been captain of the ICC T20 Team of the Year. The batter is the No.1 ranked T20I batter and has been piling runs in chunks. Mark Chapman is also picked for the team. The Kiwi all-rounder mistrusted 576 at 44.30 and with a strike rate of 141.87 in 2023. 

Sikander Raza is the all-rounder picked by ICC in the team of the year. The Zimbabwe skipper was sensational with bat and ball and contributed equally well to the team. Ugandan’s Alpesh Ramjani has also been picked by the ICC for his heroics. He picked up 55 wickets in 30 matches. 

Ireland’s Mark Adair has also made a cut into the team. The all-rounder had 26 wickets at an economy of 7.42 and also scored 161 runs at a strike rate of 133 in 2023. Following him is India’s Ravi Bishnoi, who picked 18 wickets in just 44 overs he bowled in 2023.

Zimbabwe Richard Ngarava was one of the stand-out performer in 2023. He picked 26 wickets in 15 matches. The other pacer in the team is India’s Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer picked 26 wickets in 21 appearances for India.
