The Gujarat Titans had a dream IPL inaugural season. The Titans did very well together as a team to get their hands on the title. They had a hero in every game. When the times went from bad to worse, their captain came to the rescue first. Hardik Pandya did well, and also did Rashid. David Miller found form when the team needed it the most. Sai Kishore and Sai Sudarshan won a game each. Shubman Gill was exquisite throughout. All-in-all, it was a top team performance. So, how can Gujarat improve? Who are the players, the all-rounders that the Gujarat Titans can target for TATA IPL 2023:
1) Ravindra Jadeja might play for the Gujarat Titan Next Season:
With the Chennai Super Kings management having a fallout with their start player, Ravindra Jadeja it is a good time for Gujarat to make a lucrative offer for Jaddu. What works in favor of the Gujarat Titans is that the team relies on multi-dimensional players. And also, the fact that Jaddu would love to play for a franchise that represents his local state. So, Jadeja is an ideal commodity. The major task for Gujarat will be to convince Ravindra Jadeja to put his name in the auction.
Jaddu was out of the CSK team in the last few games under the pretext that he is injured in what some reports claim. When coming to ego management Ashish Nehra did a very good job with the Gujarat Team. “Nehraji” is a team man and Jaddu can be well-managed in the Gujarat set-up. He can readily play in the place of Sai Kishore. Both Hardik and Jaddu can play a big part for the Titans next season. He is electric on the field and has a lot to offer with the bat. 2) Marcus Stoinis Can Play for the Gujarat Titans Next Season:
Marcus Stoinis is the top T20 all-rounder across the globe currently. The cricket community is very well-known for the fact that Dav id Miller is a player who relies a lot on form. The last great season in the IPL for David Miller was in 2014 and after that, it was this IPL season. So, the Titans can certainly rely on Miller for next season too but they need to have a backup ready. Marcus Stoinis seems the perfect fit for this void.
The challenge again for the Gujarat Titans’ management will be to convince Marcus to come into the auction as he was a player who was drafted by the Lucknow Super Giants. So, it means that the Super Giants had bought him for a premium price.
Marcus can play in place of Matthew Wade who had a mediocre season. He has been playing number 3 in the BBL and can do the same for the Gujarat team in the IPL. If Miller fails next season, Wade walks back into the team as number 3, and Marcus can take the place of David Miller.
3) Rahul Tewatia will play for the Gujarat Titans Next Season:
Instead of looking around for the top fishes in the sea, Gujarat Titans already have a big fish in their bag. Rahul Tewatia was great as a finisher for the Gujarat Titans. The team relied on his finishing skills and Tewatia precisely won 3 games throughout the season for them. The fact that Rahul is a left-handed batter works in his favor as he gives the added dimension. Tewatia can bowl 2 to 3 overs of leg spin too. He is very dedicated to the field.
Rahul was associated with a few teams before Gujarat. He has played for the Delhi Daredevils, and Rajasthan Royals, and has found a safe space in Gujarat. After seeing his performance, teams would make many lucrative offers to him. The Gujarat management needs to throw light on this “Superstar” and has to make sure that they do not lose him.
