Vivo IPL 2021: Covid-19 scare hit Chennai Super Kings, three members tested covid-positive.

Vivo IPL 2021: A bus cleaner along with two members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp have been tested covid-positive on Monday. The news broke out after two players of KKR camp – spinner Varun Chakravarthy and medium-pacer Sandeep Warrier- had tested positive for the dreaded virus.

All three CSK members have been isolated from the rest of the squad. Following the positive reports, CSK has cancelled all the practice sessions on Monday.

The franchise has also asked to undergo one day isolation to the people who have come in contact with these.

MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is scheduled to play against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 32nd game of Vivo IPL 2021 on 05th May.

“The CSK team will undergo another testing today of those who are found positive. CSK wants to double-check the testing reports. Till then, all players have been informed to stay under isolation and further tests will be done on every individual,” sources in the Indian board stated.

The Covid scare in KKR camp has forced the board to reschedule the KKR-RCB game which was supposed to be held tonight, 03rd May.

With the two fresh cases of Covid-19 in KKR, the franchise will undergo daily testing routine for the next couple of days.

“Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The medical team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest,” a statement from IPL read.
