Virat Kohli defends team India for DRS controversy outburst in the 3rd test match against South Africa

Ban Virat Kohli for a match, Twitter reacts on Kohli’s blaze after DRS controversy: A fresh controversy has sparked following a poor DRS display in the ongoing third test match between India and South Africa. Indian skipper Virat Kohli retaliated furiously after the DRS overturned on-field umpire Marais Erasmus’ decision to save South African skipper, Dean Elgar, from the LBW.

Marais Erasmus, one of the finest umpires at present, found Elgar off-guard and raised his finger as Indian’s appealed for the LBW, however, Elgar decided to challenge the umpire’s decision and referred it upstairs.

The DRS, to everyone’s surprise, showed that the ball is going over the bails, though it looked plumb to everyone, including the on-field umpire.

The Indian team was frustrated with the technology’s massive blunder as India were in a poor position in the match. Virat Kohli and other Indian players walked towards the stump mic and uttered whatever they wanted to say.

Virat Kohli walked up to the stump mic after Ashwin’s over and said, “Focus on your team as well when they shine the ball.. and not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time. Well done DRS! Certainly conducting a fair game here DRS.”

KL Rahul can also be heard saying, “Whole country playing against XI guys..”

R Ashwin also expressed his disappointment and irritation as he said, “You should surely find better ways to win Supersport.”

In fact, Marais Erasmus, one of the two on-field umpires, couldn’t believe what he saw in the DRS. The ball went over the bails as if it was bowled by a pacer. Erasmus uttered, “that is impossible.”

Though many people have extended their support towards team India and Virat Kohli, especially, for the behaviour that came largely because of the wrath caused by the DRS blunder.

Meanwhile, there were many who haven’t been pleased with Virat Kohli’s kind of conduct. The netizens have openly protested against Virat Kohli for setting up a poor example of losing temper.

“Bad form by Kohli & Co to contest DRS decision v Elgar. There are shortcomings in such technology, but others can also dig up decisions that have gone in your favour. Truth is India batted poorly, SA bowled & batted superbly today which is why match is in the situation it is, said journalist Ayaz Memon.
