The Asia Cup 2023 will be played in a hybrid model. The tournament will be played from 30th August to 17th September. Out of 13 games, 4 games will take place in Pakistan whereas 9 games will be played in Sri Lanka. It’ll be great preparation for all the Asian teams to prepare themselves for the World Cup and get their combination right.

With Asia Cup 2023 just a fortnight away from us, experts on Star Star Ravi Shastri, MSK Prasad and Sandeep Patil picked the Indian squad for the tournament. They weren’t sure about the fitness of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer and therefore didn’t pick them. They urged management to not rush them as well.
The trio didn’t pick Sanju Sanju Samson in the team despite him having a decent campaign in the West Indies. Ravi Shastri, MSK Prasad and Sandeep Patil backed Ishan Kishan to be the only keeper in the team and also backed him to bat in the top order.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill also find themselves in the team picked by the former cricketers whereas Virat Kohli along with Suryakumar Yadav and young Tilak Varma will be handling the middle order duties in a team picked by Ravi Shastri, MSK Prasad and Sandeep Patil.

Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur are the four all-rounders, who according to them will make it into the team. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal also were picked in the team as the spin bowling options
Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah will be the pacers as per the Ravi Shastri, MSK Prasad and Sandeep Patil
