The bowlers did not have a plan for him. It seemed that they never expected Nawaz to come up with the order. The lack of wicket-taking options was visible in the game against Pakistan. The bowling looked a bit disoriented too. Wicket-taking options like Bumrah and Shardul Thakur were required. Thakur may at times go for runs but he has the knack for taking wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal, the top wicket-taker was taken for runs and he was put on the back foot by the Pakistanis. But no other bowler could cover up for Yuzi. It is bound to happen that Yuzi will have a bad day. Bhuvi too had a decent day. On such occasions, Rohit should have tried Deepak Hooda’s option. It will be great to see if Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah will be fit to play at the ICC T20 World Cup.
