Vivo IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra backs Shreyas Iyer as the skipper of Delhi Capitals if IPL 2021 gets rescheduled

Vivo IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra picked his Overseas 11 of the Vivo IPL 2021, leaves out surprising names.

Vivo IPL 2021: After the abrupt suspension of the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for an indefinite time period, the Cricketer-turned-Commentator Aakash Chopra who is known for his cheeky selections and in-game analysis, picked his IPL 2021 teams which consist only of the overseas players.

In his video uploaded on youtube, Chopra picked South African batsman Faf du Plessis and English Jos Buttler as the opening pair. Du Plessis was in good form scoring 4 fifties in seven games. Jos on the other hand showed his real form in a 124-runs knock against SRH.

“I have picked Faf du Plessis first. He has batted amazingly well, scored runs consistently and at a good pace. I think with him will be Jos Buttler. His real form was seen in the 124-run knock against SRH. He was a little hot and cold before that but it was not that he was getting out for five runs,” said Chopra in his youtube video.

The England recruit of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Moeen Ali is at number 3. The all-rounder scored quick runs for CSK on all the occasions after getting promoted to 3.

“I have kept Moeen Ali at No.3. He made good contributions when he was sent to bat at No.3. At No.4, I have got Glenn Maxwell. RCB started to play him at No.4. We thought he would get stuck on the Chennai pitch but he batted well,” said Chopra on his Youtube channel.

Chopra picked Mr. 360 at number 5. RCB sent AB de Villiers in 5th position and was termed as a bad idea by the experts, but it flipped the table for the franchise. De Villiers smacked two fifties playing in that slot for RCB in seven games.

“At No.6, the start was slow, there was a knock of 40-odd but then the 87 against CSK, Kieron Pollard became the lord of the Kotla,” Chopra continued.

The commentator named Andree Russell at number 7. Although season 14 of IPL, didn’t go well for the KKR, Andree Russell showed all-around entertainment. He picked five wickets in just two overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) and also rescued his team when KKR was 31/5 down.

“After that, I have kept Chris Morris. Whichever encounters Rajasthan won, his performance has been good, somewhere wickets and runs at other times. They were important runs. It might have been a short knock but a match-winning one. I was confused between Pat Cummins and Sam Curran, I am going with Sam Curran for the simple reason that he is value for money. He does better than his abilities.”

In 10th and 11th place, Aakash Chopra picked ace spinner Rashid Khan and Mumbai Indians (MI) New Zealand recruit Trent Boult.
