SLvsIND: A more confident me will be there in the Sri Lanka Series: Yuzvendra Chahal.

SLvsIND: Working on his variations and angles, a more confident Yuzvendra Chahal is on the way for upcoming India vs Sri Lanka limited-overs series, says the cricketer himself during the recent virtual press conference.

Chahal, who was India’s go-to bowler until the 2019 ODI World Cup, has not played a single ODI match since the last Australia series. Moreover, he was demoted from Grade B to Grade C in his annual contracts from the BCCI.

Talking about his preparedness for the limited-over series against Sri Lanka, Chahal replied:

“I’ve a couple of variations and I’m focusing on that only, not using other deliveries. You will see a more confident Yuzi in this series. I’m just working on my angles and in general trying to bowl more.”

The leggie was a vital cog in the white ball but has played only five ODI matches since the last ODI World Cup. To make things worse, he was benched for the complete India-England three matches ODI series.

Chahal surely didn’t have the best of his time in the recent past and talking about that, he said:

“My performance – I don’t think it was a dip [in form] or anything,” Chahal said ahead of the Sri Lanka ODI series. “You can’t perform in every match. I will try my level best. This series is very important to me.

“I keep having conversations with the bowling coach.”

The 30-years old cricketer aims at booking his slot for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held in the UAE and Oman.

The Sri Lanka series will be important to him as it can assure him of his place in the World Cup squad for India.
