IPL 2021: 3 Players KKR might target in IPL 2021 auctions

IPL 2021: 3 Players KKR might target in IPL 2021 auctions.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: The two times champions of the IPL have been in a constant debacle since the last two years. The 2020 IPL was no less, KKR failed to capitalise on the starts they got and had to do a lot of permutation and combination to seal the playoffs berth. However, they could not qualify due to lack of points at the end on playoffs.

The Knights will be keen on changing their feat and perform their best in the upcoming season of IPL. KKR mid-season changed the leadership as Dinesh Karthik stepped down and Eoin Morgan was appointed as the skipper.

In the coming season, KKR decided to go with the majority of the previous squad and have not released many cricketers. It will be interesting to watch their picks in the IPL 2021 auctions that are scheduled for 18th February in Chennai.

In this article, we will discuss three players KKR might target in the IPL 2021 auctions.

3 Players KKR might target in IPL 2021 auctions:

Alex Hales:

Opening was the issue for KKR last time they came out to play at UAE. Shubman Gill along with Sunil Narine didn’t work out for them. They can opt for Alex Hales who has been in tremendous form lately.

In the recently concluded BBL, Hales emerged as the highest run-scorer for Sydney Thunders. Shubman Gill along with Alex Hales could be a deadly pair for KKR. The right-handed batsman has scored 543 runs in 15 games which includes a century.

Shivam Dube:

The lack of Indian all-rounder at the middle order has ticked the KKR management for a while. With Andree Russell going through a lean patch of his form and Sunil Narine failing to connect ball, Shivam Dube can act as the shield for the Knight Riders.

Shivam Dube was released by RCB ahead of IPL 2021 auctions and he will head to the auctions. KKR can occupy the all-rounder into their arsenal and maximise the strength. The IPL 2021 will be played in India and most probably in the outskirts of Maharashtra, he being the regular player of these conditions can become a lethal weapon for them.

Marnus Labuschagne:

The Australian all-rounder will be the one player who will cause the bidding war between the franchises. Labuschagne in the BBL season 10 performed superbly and acted as a pure all-rounder.

KKR has a slot for the overseas player, they can run after the Aussie star.  In the 6 outings in BBL 10, Labuschagne scored 176 runs with a strike rate of 123 and picked 10 crucial scalps for his side Brisbane Heat.
