<p><strong>IND vs SL ODI: Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of 3-game ODI series against Sri Lanka: </strong>Team India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who was expected to make his comeback in the three-game One Day Internationals (ODI) against Sri Lanka, has now been withdrawn from India's ODI side by the BCCI. He is also doubtful for the opening test against Australia in Nagpur, following another setback. The cricket board has confirmed the development.</p>



<p>The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a surprising change to India's ODI squad after it pulled back the participation of Jasprit Bumrah from the upcoming series as a precautionary measure. The cricket board said Bumrah will need "some more time to build bowling resilience."</p>



<p>"Bumrah, who was set to join the team in Guwahati ahead of the ODI series, will need some more time to build bowling resilience," the BCCI said in a statement about withdrawing Bumrah from the ODIs against Sri Lanka. "This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure."</p>

<p>Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was earlier declared fit by the medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), where the pacer was undergoing rehabilitation since September last year. Initially, the speedster wasn't included in the ODI squad, however, following further evaluation, he was given the green signal to participate in the 50-over series against Sri Lanka, which starts on January 10.</p>



<p>"The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the NCA," the BCCI had said when announcing Bumrah's late inclusion for the series. "He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon."</p>



<p>A match-simulation workload test was held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to check the preparedness of the pacer before giving him a nod to make his international comeback, which understandably he passed. However, things took a sharp turn, when Jasprit took a similar test for two days in a row in Mumbai after which the bowler complaint of stiffness.</p>



<p>The 29-year-old has been advised to rest and rehab with the aim to get back to the international circuit during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Owing to his injury concerns, Bumrah is likely to miss the T20I and ODI series against New Zealand as well.
